In Bolivia, we work in the small, agricultural outpost town of Montero in the eastern plains of the country. Our partner, Seattle-based Etta Projects, has been active in eastern Bolivia for 11 years. Etta Projects supports nearly 62,000 people through water, sanitation, education, nutrition and health projects.
Montero is a hub for local farmers and buyers, trading in crops grown on the dry plains in this region – soybeans, corn, rice and cotton. While the town has seen much growth in recent years, many of the exurbs remain under-developed.
Vibrant Village Foundation has teamed up with Etta Projects, Rotary International, neighborhood residents and the local municipality to fund a latrine reconstruction and sanitation project in two neighborhoods in the outskirts of this city.
