Our Work

We directly manage our own programming through field offices and make grants to organizations working on the ground to improve food security, family health, financial wellbeing and education in communities around the world.

Oxfam America

Field Offices

Ecuador

Our Ecuador field office, located in Paragachi near Otavalo in the Northern Andes, employs 11 staff. We focus on promoting organic household gardens to improve family nutrition and generate additional income. We also support arts education for youth and a nutrition program for elders.

Ghana

Our Ghana field office, located in Fielmuo, Upper West Region, employs 9 staff. We are focused on constructing and repairing potable water sources and training families and students in sanitation and hygiene practices. With a focus on women as agents of change, the Ghana field office also supports small business development activities, such as soap making and community gardening.

Kenya

Our Kenya field office, located in Esabalu, near Kisumu in Western Kenya, employs 27 staff. Our flagship Farm Input Program provides small agricultural loans and training for farmers in the region. We also coordinate an innovative Education Learning Volunteer program to support youth who are struggling in school. The program engages high school-age youth who tutor elementary school children.
